Missio Dei has become a critical term in contemporary missiology. It was developed in large part to critique an approach to mission that was dominated by the Western church, propagating Western imperialism and institutional concerns. This

missio Dei by making it still primarily about human action. Kelly offers five affirmations about
missio Dei that he believes can provide for a more faithful, joyful approach to mission.
